I'm an old lady now at the young age of 48...have great friends that are as young as 20 and as old as 70. All women experience love; and OH BOY - love for a woman encompasses many facets of life. Your first love, your first boyfriend, husband, your second, and all in between...
I envy the people I can count on one hand that met theirs and never looked back - that's rare. I think we all intended for it to be that way...just didn't happen for me :)
In my life though - and lately especially - I've know people that experienced love in earlier years and have reunited... I don't have anyone I want to connect back to - lost what I lost back in the day - and I'm now OK with it all... BUT lately I know about 3 people going through this...
I'm PROUD and happy for those that went back and found those they loved from the beginning. And on that note - those of us that have had amazing people come into our lives later = LOVE.
Life is a trip - worth taking - if you're missing something - look back and find it - or look at what you have at present and appreciate it, or maybe it's your future. Be HAPPY for people in your past that found it - encourage your friends that they can find it - and if you're IN IT - LOVE what you have.
KNOW Love conquers ALL :) I'm old and have been through a lot in my life - Maybe I'm not what my husband thought I would be - and maybe he's not what I had in my young teen mind - but we're happy. He puts up with me and I put up with him - we LOVE each other. You have to get older to figure that out :)
I'm happy for us, and I'm SO HAPPY for those unhappy lately that were old and found love from the past. Life is too short - BE HAPPY - and find love where you can and hold onto it when you get it...

I feel like I NEED to write this. I only got involved in politics since the caucus in 2008. I got fired up, and I haven't stopped being fired up since :) I just returned from a special event tonight, and thinking along the lines of what I need to say? WHO better to say it to than your dogs on your own back porch :) It's OK to sit in a nice dress in a lounge chair on your own back porch and talk to the dogs about politics :)
BUT - love my pictures - and I must have video of every politician from city council, to mayor, to congressman, to governor. I go to a lot of events, and I think (due to the "stink eye" I get from some)...I've become to be known in the upper circles of Washoe County GOP as "the bitch with the camera" HAHAHA...
Well - this is how it is - and this is my reason. I'm disappointed that in a county of over 500,000 that I take MY time to learn. I take my time to see. AND, a lot of times - there are not that many of us at any given function. BUT - THOSE OF US that ARE there hear all that is spoken when someone gives a speech. Bloggers abound - Newspapers abound - Television stations abound - just WE abound. WE - THOSE OF US that ARE there and HEAR what's spoken can sit amongst ourselves and talk about it all day long. We chicks, or the gentlemen that attend - we can ALL talk about what was said or done. WHY is speaking or telling different than pictures?
WHEN I AM BEHIND MY CAMERA??? I truly HAVE NO OPINION!!! As a woman, as a business owner, as a citizen, mother, voter - SURE - I have opinions...but BEHIND my camera - there IS NO OPINION! I just wish to bring to the citizens of Nevada the things they need to hear. From EVERY candidate - from EVERY person I film - I feel like it's my duty to bring to them what THEY aren't willing to come out and find out for themselves.
I ALWAYS ask permission to publish. I sit on my videos and study them myself to form my own opinions. I rarely have the time to publish the ones I have, and I have HOURS OF THEM!
By the time I find the time to edit and publish - it's usually old news anyway. SO - to those giving me stink eye - and to those that embrace my little videos? I do it for YOU. I do it for WE. I had the honor to attend the Vegas concert this last weekend. A surprise addition was Mark Levin, "The Great One", and since I listen to his radio show daily on my way home - I'd heard prior that he would be there.
Preface: I have long told my children that the schools were indoctrinating them - far against the way I was raised. In my day, NO BIT of history was left out. ALL SIDES of history, thoughts, doctrines, ideas were presented, and our teachers then left it up to us to decide which path to walk.
It's not so today. My kids (since all they know is what THEY were taught in THEIR time) always told me, "Oh Mom...it's not THAT bad"...Well...
My kids are 26 & 20. The 20 year old is a Sophomore at UNR as a business major. One night he called me late and said I might be right. In his English class - a big part of his semester grade was to read, study, and complete assignments of the Communist Manifesto!
I was appalled - not that his Professor wanted him to read that - just that NO ALTERNATIVE was offered. I believe that you should read all sides of life, learn all sides of life, THEN draw your own conclusion as to where you stand. It goes back to keep your friends close, but the enemies closer :) I also believe that IF you are presented TRUTH to all sides of life - HOW CAN YOU POSSIBLY END UP ANY OTHER THAN CONSERVATIVE TO THE CORE?
NO alternative was offered - and I told my son NOT TO WORRY - I have the other side, and Mamas will ALWAYS present both sides to their children and let them grow and mature and decide. That's what a Democracy is about - THAT IS THE SPIRIT OF AMERICA!
I COULDN'T WAIT to get to Las Vegas - see Mark Levin in person, and tote my book from home for him to sign.
I get to Vegas to the venue - was the first person through my particular door of entrance to the venue - then I got in line. Behind HUNDREDS, and then a thousand or so - we wait for Mark to sign our books. People from all over the nation had brought their books from home - each with a personal story - just to have Mark sign it.
Mark Levin had about 1-1/2 hours to sign what I would guess 3000 books! I wouldn't want to be him! But he shook each of our hands quickly, signed the books, and I got to very quickly tell him my story of why I bought his book for my son that was forced to read the Communist Manifesto - His face softened, and he said, "Atta Girl"... Made the line worth while :) (NOTE: A BIG thanks to my husband Kevin for snapping these photos of a GREAT experience :) Love ya Babe!
Today, I had a pleasurable moment at work. As a multiple business owner, I am not at each location all the time - plus - I have "princess tendencies" that bring me in late (hahaha).
A customer came in for a repeat visit. He had been to our shop once before, but I had never met him. Today, I had the pleasure to wait on him when he picked up his vehicle and pay his bill. At first, he did not know I was the owner, just thought I was the secretary I think :)
He asked me, "Do you know why I came back here and love you guys?" I said No, but I'd sure like to hear. He remembered from his past repair, that an error had been made and we made it right. I then remembered that job, but had never met the actual man.
The last time he was in - we inadvertently billed him for a part that ended up not actually being needed on his truck. We returned the part, but did not remove it from his bill.
I caught the error in my daily duties a few weeks later, and sent the man a check for $40 something dollars and apologized for the error. He told me today when I met him that NOBODY from ANY company had ever sent him money BACK! He knew that I could have easily kept that $40 and no one would have ever been the wiser.
I remembered doing that - it was just the right thing to do. I didn't realize at the time that others might not. It made me feel really GOOD to know that doing the right thing made a real impact on my company's reputation, and brought a smile to the heart of a now loyal customer. I was just embarrassed at the time that we let an error like that slip by us!
I told him I appreciated his comments, introduced myself as the business owner, and told him - no worries. We try hard to do what we say we will do, with quality and timely performance. I also mentioned that I too must look into a mirror each day - and why would I keep $40 that didn't rightfully belong to me? We smiled and shook hands.
Ahhh - the little things in life that make your day :) It was a true pleasure serving this customer, and I hope many more feel the same way. It just feels so good to make someone else happy. I want us all to strive for more of that in our daily lives, our business lives, and just in general.
God Bless America and the people that live here and co-mingle from time to time with each other in happy ways :)
What happens to people you used to know - used to look up to - and then "poof" life changes, circumstances change, and voila - a new sad person is born. HOW MANY times can you watch one individual be on top of the world - and then in the gutter AGAIN?
Sometimes it's not all sad - sometimes you just catch folks you still know in a 2 + 2 = 95 moment and you just shake your head. Thank goodness some make it, some don't, and I suppose at one moment or another in our own lives - we've been that person??? But only and hopefully after being in the gutter or close ONCE - you don't EVER end up there again - most figure it out and can call a medium to rock bottom the worst ever - but MULTIPLE trips to the bottom and the gutter???
Running errands today I ran into someone on the sidewalk outside a store. I nodded getting out of my car wearing sunshades and in a hurry. I knew that person saw me - that's why I nodded. They looked back, I smiled and got on out of my car.
Couldn't help myself - after passing my car and on my way into the store - I looked that person's direction - they looked back again - then came back and called my name.
From a distance I said, "how are ya?" - they said, "Oh - it's you." Then it was a sad moment I cannot do anything about anymore. This person overtly stated they aren't good again. Life sucks - I lost my job - I have this affliction, that one, and another one. I'm going to require multiple surgeries, I only have the VA, and I now have to live with a relative because I cannot take care of myself any longer.
However - this person was clean, wearing clean crisp clothes, and given the neighborhood I was in - I know this person walked at least half a mile to end up there on foot. This person had to lean the wall to stand up though - had been drinking a LONG time and smelled of it - and stood there on a sidewalk and cried like a baby while I tried to provide some words of common sense, good judgment, advice, and comfort.
This person used to be a great person - great job - great parent - great spouse. EVERYTIME now I run into this person over the last three years - always the same - TRAGEDY - cover ups - excuses - and yes - bad health.
One cannot walk miles though if they aren't capable of something. You give them phone numbers, you suggest avenues over the years for help. You OFFER these people EVERYTHING you have to offer INCLUDING LOTS of money - they still swim the gutter.
I don't want to be a total raving bitch - but at some point - after you've taught someone how to swim, after you've seen them at the top of the world more than once, and at the bottom more than thrice, and you STILL give them swimming lessons - some days - you almost want to tell them to jump.
Folks these days are real down on Conservatives. They say we're racists, arrogant, capitalist pigs, etc. All of the things liberals throw at us...we just let it bounce off because we know in our hearts they are wrong. We are not racist, we are not arrogant, capitalist we are - but pigs we are not.
Conservatives know what makes America great and we remember those who fight that fight. We do appreciate others different than us, we thrive on the eccentric that can succeed at doing what has impassioned them and allows them to succeed in their dreams. And so it is with painting the flag...

This woman in NO WAY resembles to ME a virgin Mary, or any other virgin. HELLOOOOO! If your half naked self is on the cover of Playboy...it has NOTHING to do with Christianity. Look folks... We; as in WE THE PEOPLE voted by a majority to elect a new President...not necessarily accounting for the mentality of the majority...I'm just saying...the majority won. Just because I don't have high hopes that we're in for a cherry pickin' next four years doesn't mean the FREAKING WORLD IS COMING TO AN END!
We're in for some hard times for sure...but we've got to STOP all the doom and gloom! The markets have fallen by soaring numbers...it's like a SALE at Macy's or even Wal-Mart! The media wants you to believe that Chicken Little let the sky fall upon you! It hasn't! In a capitalist society, we're just correcting things back to where they should have been. None of this is OUR fault...but WE MUST now take notice and make sure THEY don't have the chance again to shove a cattle prod up our butts more than once. WE THE PEOPLE...not just me and you...but EVERYBODY must make it a priority to keep up on what "they" are up to! NIMBY must become a household word (Not In My Back Yard).
ALSO remember that as Spock taught us...in a true society...the needs of the many sometimes outweigh the needs of the one or the few. BUT NOT if the one or the many aren't contributing to the greater good! In my world NOBODY ever gets bailed out. Outside what little my parents could do for me ONCE in my youth and only to the extent they had the capital and the $$$ to do so...IF I SCREWED UP...too bad...so sad...sucked to be me. Where they had no money to help a dumb ass...they didn't! My folks taught me through example that "screw it up bad enough...you're on your damn own...not MY problem you didn't listen to what I taught you!"
Did ANY of your folks ever tell you "We're not MADE of money you know!" Neither is the USA. Just because USA owns a printing press and will print dollars...you CANNOT keep drawing blood out of turnips. I cannot even fathom what these multiple "bail-outs" might really do to our economy or our children's/grandchildren's lives. I know THIS...it hasn't all happened yet, so keep fighting. I also know that we'll live through it! I lived through Jimmy Carter who WRECKED THIS NATION. Possibly Obama will too...but I'm even savvy enough to know that without an administration, House & Senate that allowed it...Jimmy Carter by himself wasn't enough as one man to do the damage he did. Keep your EYES & EARS on your establishment. Obama alone cannot take us down...BOMBARD YOUR CONGRESS and keep THEM accountable to WE THE PEOPLE.
Whether you are a Democrat or Republican or anything in between...STOP BELIEVING everything you are told on TV! The CRAP ALL OF YOU are buying into is driving the markets DOWN farther, plunging everyone into deeper circumstances, and quite frankly making it harder and harder for responsible folk to just keep on keeping you employed and keeping our own heads above water.
I'm a Southerner by raising and when someday my dead ass reaches the Pearly Gates the FIRST thing I'm gonna' say to the Lord is THANK YOU that I was raised in Texas. I can actually live in a tent or in a mansion and be happy in either. Beyond that; FOLKS...stop dyin' on the vine! Didn't ANYBODY ever throw you from a horse? Didn't ANYBODY ever throw you a tough curve ball? Didn't ANYBODY EVER LEAVE YOU TO YOUR OWN DOIN'S' AND MAKE YOU ACCOUNTABLE FOR THEM?
Keep YOURS and YOU and what you hold dear and near to your hearts up front! Markets be damned, crisis be damned, keep your heads up and don't believe everything you hear, AND don't think that just BECAUSE our dumb ass GOVERNMENT might give you a free ride...NOTHING IS FREE! YOU'LL PAY THE PIPER FOR SURE...EVEN THOSE ON WELFARE!

Our nation's PEOPLE are paying attention more than ever. If the new Obama administration doesn't perform to your liking...VOTE OUT anybody that folds in two years and then again in four. But for the meantime...HALT THE ARMAGEDDON talk! Anything is possible, but let's not make much ado about something until it actually happens please. IF it happens, let's come cocked to rock and dismantle what's in the way of Our America!

This post is again in honor of Aunty Belle…a VERY INTELLIGENT and BRILLIANT writer…she just writes in the style of Mark Twain. or perhaps Mark Twain “tried” to write like her. Doan know how she pulls it off, but she is the craftiest person I know in mixing modern day reality with old school literature and old school people. Something dawned on me though…I say old school and my kids think 1960’s or 1970’s, when their mother was raised, or the fact that “we” wear “tightie whities” for underwear instead of the “now fashionable” boxers (little do they know huh?)…or the fact I cannot STAND a bra strap showing, and now “it’s fad”. Old school means 8-track tapes and green shag carpet…all not true! OLD SCHOOL truly means the times when things were right and kosher. Old School refers to times when folks were centered.
I, born in 1962 was raised by Mama Ann and Papa Bill (Born 1913 & 1898 respectively) (along with Mama Rice her mother, Uncle Otho, Aunt Mary, Uncle RJ (was at Normandy +), Mallie Lou my Grandmother, and Paw Paw (also a veteran) in his old radiator shop… (yes my Mother that raised me was my Grandmother’s OLDER sister)…Aunt Margaret that was Papa Bill’s sister, and Aunt Nita…etc. I was raised an only child amongst VERY OLD people. However, I was adopted into my own family…so I kept in touch and was around the “younger” group, my real father…(My Daddy at my second wedding) mid sixties now, my real sibling and half siblings from that generation and so forth from time to time. I love my “real” Daddy more than any daughter can…this story however is about my early childhood and that Daddy that formed my brain and my soul. Brains & souls are living and growing creatures…Daddy’s never go away they just improve on things someone else started :)
In honor (dishonorably probably…I can’t do it the way she does) of Aunty…I’m gonna do my own post in that style…because I believe in it SO MUCH…I was raised in it and without it…we’re gonna lose a lot of America. Yep…folks back then in cities believed like us, but spoke with “distinction and properness”…their message doesn’t get across today the same way though, as if it was said the way it was said in “our country…meaning literal country, wilderness, deep south, wide open space” in OLD SCHOOL.
SO…this post will have spelling errors and grammar errors, but the message will be better than any primer could teach.
Times have changed. The news folks say a lot of stuff that makes no sense to me or you. We even have a new word fer it…called spin. Politics really has nothin’ to do with it… it’s just how we’ve all been accustomed to herin’ it. I grew up in a different era, and I want THAT ERA to come back. In MY era…folks jest said what they had to say…life was wat it was, and NOBODY ever talked much ‘bout politics. Good was as good did and it worked fer all. The Gov’ment was up there to watch over it all, make sure it didn’t get out of hand…keep an eye on the globe, defend us if the bad guys were a comin’, and make a few laws kinda like the 10 commandments to keep us all in check. It was an honor to be chosen as Gov’ment…that meant you’d succeeded in being a good guy and leadin’ the folks. Somehow…they’s all jumped in together and thought Caesar or somethin’ was a good idea? How’d we let that happen?
We had movies then, but we enjoyed the stories them movies had. It were after all a picture show! Nobody ever thought much about the real folks in the picture show…hell my folks watched pichures when they weren’t no sound…we’s jest watchin the story! Yep, we KNEW they’s real folks playin the parts…but we figured that was they’re job and we appreciated them for bringin’ us a good tale. We never cared who’s they dilly dallying with…we just liked the story. Now’s we’s got to hear all ‘bout they mistresses, misters, clothes, hair & cars…iffun we was to ever give a damn ‘bout ‘em. We’d like to knows how they kid’s are a fairen…how’s they Mama, did Missus Claire get over her consumption? That’s what we care about…we don’t care none how they want to carry on and be all fluffy & above the other folks that pays their way by purchasing the movie tickits n all! Movie stars were probably the first politicians on that scale perhaps…we WERE their bosses. Without US buyin the movie tickets…they’s be out of a job! The ingrateful bastards!
I’m not much of a reader…books that is…my bad…but one of the books a good ole’ teacher made me read was Lord Of The Flies. Makes one wonder ‘bout whether folks is born bad, born good, or all born the same…and it’s just that given certain obstacles put in front of ‘em whether some folks makes it out, or caves in and uses others to gain, or one tries to ride the middle and truly make a concerted effort to ride the middle thus doin’ the best they can for all.
Doan know if any of ya ever thinks on such lines…but ridin the middle done correctly is the toughest road to hoe. I’s will emphasize that again…done correctly. Hoein’s a hard thing to do, and if not done correctly…the weeds come creepin back up and crops wither. Hoe too close to the plant and ya loses some desired profit. Git tired of hoein row after row, dawn to dusk…git a little lazy…leave a few…the plant is in jest the same danger. 160 acres ain’t much in landowner world back in cotton farm country…dirt poor actually…but it’s a shitload to hoe if you’re the only daughter, Mama & Daddy. Try to lie…no folk can put an eye on a whole 160 acres…can’t see that fer…so’s one of three says “Yep…I hoed all them weeds”…when ya really didn’t…got tired, bored, felt abused, and left a few… Think it’s all just OK, but then wait for the crops to grow…and it don’t take long for to notice it was yer patch that grew short. Just ask somebody who’s Daddy made ‘em actually hoe some cotton rows & keep a particular patch fer they own. Hoein is a craft sometimes, ‘specially on a bad weather year.
Nother thing is…used to be life wasn’t so much ‘bout every penny…but a lesson learned in earnin’ it. Men these days in some parts is kinda fluffy iffun you ask me… My Daddy could fix anything (both Daddys), could do anything, and for damned sure they KNEW everythang that was goin on ‘bout the place. My Daddy would let my little patch of cotton I’s responsible for hoin’ to wither a bit jest for the sake of teachin me the lesson of right n’ wrong, profit be damned. It’s been a lot of years…but I remember that once my patch withered a bit compared to the work I thought anal retentive and overdone by the folks which produced bountiful crops…I made sure from that point forward…my damn patch of cotton would grow strong…bigger and better… ‘Course that was when hard work competition was fun and a family thang…we no longer compete to see who can work the hardest and appreciate the bounty of ALL the hard work…folks now compete to see who can get the most for less. I tried it once on a cotton farm…didn’t work out so well for me…
Then…’long came welfare (I finally noticed welfare)…was meant to be to help Missus Claire with her age and consumption get a hand up. Then po ole’ Mr. Jones had no family, fell and broke a hip…none of us minded helping him…but then…other folks started thinkin’ that with a little whining and carryin on…they’s too could get a piece of the Gov’ment pie. A penny here & there from all of us to help Missus Claire or Mr. Jones made sense…but then…they’s lazy folks not willin to hoe their own row of cotton started to get part of my Papa Bill’s hard earned lucre! I’d done already learned that “actin’ like yore hoin” ain’t by NO MEANS really hoin! By now…I’m a teen. I remember standin’ by Papa Bill hoin that cotton one day ‘n asking him WHY didn’t he fight the folks in the city? (Our “town” had 5000). He was just old n’ tired I think and tired of fightin’. He’d seen a lot in his years…hell…his family horse drawn buggy still sits in the dusty ole’ museam we have back home. And yep…you guessed it…there’s some ole’ tired senior sits there every day as a volunteer…and nobody comes to see what our town was in the boom back in the railroad days…back in the days of saloons where women weren’t allowed…ceptin for those with not many clothes on even with a corset and a long dress!
He was so old he saw television come up and always swore to me that man didn’t really go to the moon…it was impossible…it was all TV hoax :) I guess born in 1898…from horses & saloons to people in a glass box, to Gov’ment craziness…one might wonder :)
He stood up once when we was a waterin the plum trees and hoin weeds and I was a “talkin my craziness” again ‘bout why he didn’t stand up and make the “city folk” play by the same rules he made me play by on the farm…when I was beggin’ him to fight the wrong ways…he shushushed me and parked his hoe in the ground with force…and told me a strange story for a teenager in 1978 or so still hoin away with the only Daddy she was raised with born in 1898…
I doan no much ‘bout history…(I’m learning in this Obamanation I should have paid more attention…)…but my Daddy stood all dirty and sweat born ‘n told me that Howard Taft came up on his farm one day a campaignin’ He was little…12-14 or so he thunk, and his folks were all for him and it was quite the honor to see the man all dressed up in finery with a twisty mustache ‘n all… and he was sparked. He was all for it all…Taft lost he says…’cause a couple of the same kind of folk tried to war over a chair and then with a nation divided a lesser man won the chair…I don’t even know who that was…I don’t know history. But my Daddy told me we’d be more suited to worry ‘bout these weeds creepin up on the plum trees than we need to be worried ‘bout fancy suit men tryin to come on a man’s farm and tell him how good he’s gonna have it. He said unless Taft or any other was willin’ to pick up a hoe and do some good while he’s a talkin’ he ain’t much of a man…he told me that outside the 160 acres I’s lookin over Taft nor any other city folk would ever know ‘bout hoin. My Daddy loved that land and hoed it and made it beautiful until the day he died. He could never see beyond his and ours and if we weren’t hungry or cold…we were fine. I’m glad I have that instilled in me…I see the day coming again and I will be fine hoin cotton, livin’ in a tent, and cannin’ blue lake beans or black eyed peas.
I graduated high school and left home and them cotton rows 4 days later. I could never understand how my folks jest shook they heads and let the lazy bums that never hoed a row of cotton take they hard earned Sunday Mornin grocery and paper money…didn’t even fight. But now…I see…in 1980 when I graduated high school…and wanted more (not that Route 3 in Colorado City Texas wouldn’t be enough to sustain a gal forever)…I was on a mission. My Daddy had ham radios in his garage…my Daddy created amazing works of art in his woodwork…but it was all just for us. The simpleness of my Papa Bill, his conservative ideas and work ethic made me who I am. However, his thoughts of jest hoe this row of cotton…make THIS PLACE the best place on earth and we’ll have no worries…kept him from realizing truth. Just sitting back and letting it all happen around him is the part of him that made him a Democrat.
RINOS today, folks that know how to hoe a row of cotton, but just sit back and hoe three rows so as not to a’fend the lazy bastard that won’t even hoe ½ row…they’re Democrats too. I used to get beat…granted I’m alive today at 45…don’t suppose the beaten’ was too harsh…but my Daddy or Mama when I done wrong would MAKE me pick a limb off the Sycamore tree for my own beaten’. Guess what?...Better pick a fair sized stick…cause one too small meant Mama or Daddy would pick one more suitable…and pickin’ one TOO LARGE brought arrogance into the scene and you would get one whack with the large one just to show ‘ya! Folks back then understood from livin’ how to ride the middle, didn’t need to put no political party title in front nor behind it all.
The middle is the smoothest spot on the lake. The middle is the sweet spot in the ice cream…not too hard & frozen…not melted either. Hell…if we can’t see past the literature that teaches this…remember the Three Little Bears…where one was too hot, one was too cold, and one was just right. The Three Little Pigs searched for the middle and so did Little Red Riding Hood!
I wanted to be cool when I was a pre-teen gal. I wanted to sport a short skirt and wear tight jeans. My Mama didn’t approve, and clothes cost too much money. She pretty much sewed all the clothes we wore. She chose hideous double knit fabric (the crap on sale at the 5 & Dime store)…and I had to wear it. Fights brewed…I rebelled. Finally, Papa Bill found the middle…he told me…if I didn’t like the clothes my Mama sewed for me I could certainly get a job and buy my own…or I could go naked to school…I had a choice.
I got a job. I thought I was going to get to spend all my money on clothes, fun things, my car, and whimsical desires of a teen. OH HELL NO! Living on a dirt poor cotton farm I don’t suppose Mama Ann sewed my clothes because she LIKED doing it (I see that now), it was a necessity. So…when at 14 I got a full time job AND still attended school…I was then to contribute to the household. Buckin’ the system (my parents were the system) and thinkin’ I knew it all…I still respected my Daddy, and he was right. I had to give my folks ½ of every paycheck I earned until which time I moved out and could sustain myself. My Daddy always TOLD me that if my WHOLE paycheck COULD land me on my own…no need to give ½…move out. Until I made ENOUGH THOUGH to where I didn’t NEED THEM for a home…give up ½.
My Democratic Daddy told me that for ALL THESE YEARS…THEY provided all I needed without asking a dime. Now that I COULD earn…I should give back and support the family household with at least ½ until my whole would leave me independent. He also told me that I should use MY half wisely…save it…spend it on things to make me self supportive.
I didn’t…I spent MY half on “stuff” a kid wants. My Daddy NEVER judged me for my expenditure of my half…but also never wanted to hear me cry when I didn’t have enough money to “do” something I “really” wanted to and couldn’t afford. He just told me…should’ve not needed that stereo, or shouldn’t have needed that fancy outfit…should’ve let Mama sew you one at ¼ the price! My Daddy & Mama fought me conservative to the core and taught me the values…but themselves sat at home and never ventured out to see the rest of the world, nor try to change any of it. They truly rode the middle. I think from 1898-1913 they had just seen it all. I think at that time in their lives they were content finally to become part of the problem rather than the solution for at their age it was easier…I think at some point they had to be fighters…otherwise they wouldn’t have raised me the way they did…and I think they finally gave up. I think Papa Bill & Mama Ann (obviously due to age and stories told) LIVED through the depression of the 30’s and just wanted to make sure I knew how to survive. Survival was the key then, and they did it. I think that survival took the wind out of their sails and beyond the simple peace of surviving that ordeal…they needed nothing more. But BOY…if either of them could be alive today and be mentally competent to see what they actually raised me to believe and accomplish……….I suppose they see it from Heaven.
I don’t know a lot about history from say 100 years or so…but I did live with folks that lived that history. What scares me today is that not only is history repeating itself before our very eyes and ears…I too am now guilty. I lived their history through their example of teaching. I made it pretty good and got complacent in that comfort the way they were complacent in their meager existence. So…all the things I wanted Papa Bill to fight for…I thought by being successful and having a few dollars in my pocket that I won that fight…I didn’t! I just kept hoin weeds. I just kept plowing rows. I just did for me and mine and struggled through many hard times. BUT…I DIDN’T EVER TAKE THE TIME…outside my own children to TEACH others how to see that light.
We are in a very strange time. I see things going backwards like the things Papa Bill used to tell me of from his life when we hoed cotton or picked fruit together. My Papa Bill was always so proud to tell me those ole’ Texan yarns (plus yarns of North Carolina, Raliegh) and assure me that I was lucky…for if I worked hard and stuck it all out…at least spent ½ of my money responsibly…I’d NEVER have to see those kind of things happen in my lifetime. He used to tell me (God wish it were true today) that if I just cared for this 160 acres of Texas dirt God blessed us with, I’d be OK.
My Texas dirt is long gone now…but to a family I knew then…and I wished I still had it. Life was simple there. I’ve been fortunate to have dined with stars, met influential people, (having a career in gaming helped)… heck…this political season alone I’ve learned the lessons Papa Bill learned when meeting Howard Taft… I’ve learned that for the most part the political “echelon” I’ve met are like minded, some others weren’t…but they were all just folks…just people like you and I. Some want to make a difference while their hands are tied…some made a difference tied hands be damned, and some you can tell just want a photo op, get a donation, or get to the next level so they don’t have to ever look back at us hoers again. I wish I would have thought just once to ask any of my politicians if they’ve ever hoed a row of cotton or had the opportunity to have learned life’s lessons while feeling the dirt of Texas between their toes as they watched their Papa Bill do it.
OLD SCHOOL…that’s where it’s at. We don’t even need political parties…we just all need to spend a summer in red dirt hoeing a weed or two and knowing what a day’s work really feels like. If you haven’t seen it…PLEASE RENT THIS MOVIE…

HOW REFRESHING to see a YOUNG MAN see the truth as it is through the eyes of a Conservative Thinker of the budding hip-hop generation! On my local Conservative radio talk show station (KKOH-AM-Reno), I got in on the very end of a conversation about this young man's video. The host whom I love happened to misquote the actual title with all the spaces and numbers. I couldn't find it, but judging from the comments (all from middle aged folks), I knew I wanted to see it. Tonight, it was e-mailed to me and I WAS SO HAPPY! If I reach ONLY ONE young voter and THIS changes their mind? I'll be happy! Eight short minutes of thoughts of a young man that's lived, learned, and knows the truth!
Most of my readers are middle aged like me, but we all have kids! OUR PARENTS used to JUST CRINGE when we said "That's Groovy", or "That's Neat", or then "That's Bad (when it meant good), or "That's Rad"... (My mother just about shot me for loving the Doobie Brothers because they sang a song that included lyrics, "JESUS is my friend". It was Rock & Roll and their band name included the word Doobie! LAWDY HELP US POOR MISGUIDED YOUTH!
We then had kids and Oh Lordy the crazy stuff they said...but it's THEIR GENERATION! Our Groovy is now Hip-Hop. WE don't get it, and we shouldn't get ALL OF IT, it's THEIR generation and they have every right to "their lingo" as we did to ours! It's the negative we hear from the youngsters that appalls us...it's the vulgar denegration of each other we hear when they spout and spew that makes us cry...when we hear them saying GOOD THINGS, we don't notice the "lingo" so much!
REMEMBER...it's THIS generation that will be in charge of YOUR country when WE RETIRE! I can only hope this young man finds other like minded Conservatives in HIS GENERATION to keep us oldies all safe and RIGHT, and RED!

Don't know if you have any aspirations toward politics or not...but you should perhaps look up Maurice Washington if you do...what a fine example of a great Conservative he is in our state :) Keep up the good work!
VOTE MCCAIN-PALIN! My position hasn't changed. I'm a die hard Conservative. McCain is a die hard Republican (close as we'll get?), and Obama is a die hard Liberal...among MANY other ills that bother me still reading between his lines of eloquence. Be careful of what "old folks" might tell you. I'm 45, McCain is 71 or so...we only get smarter :) BHO falls comfortably somewhere in between.
There hasn't been in this nation for over 20 years a true Conservative that ran for President. In 1980. He ran against Jimmy Carter, the WORST president any of us can remember. As bad as it hurts me as a Texan to admit...George Bush Jr. is vying for that position more and more each day. Bush did well for four years, and has sunk to new lows each year since; the MSM or Liberal media will certainly portray George Bush as a worse President than Jimmy Carter.
HOWEVER...AS BAD AS BUSH'S APPROVAL RATINGS ARE...HE SOARS AT 22% COMPARED TO OUR CURRENT APPROVAL RATING FOR CONGRESS OF 9%! And Americans, it's your Congress that runs your nation. Your President is but a figure head, and without Congressional support he/she CANNOT get ANYTHING done!

IN 1996 I didn't know if I was coming or going. I drove across a nation to move back to a place where I knew I could make a living for my children, that I left in the early 90's for a better place. I left Mississippi (that gave me support, friendship, and a place like no other I ever lived, my leaving was family oriented and no other) with 3 good tires and one bald tire. I had literally a few bucks in my pocket. I lowered myself when I got to where I was going to admit I was broke and borrowed $20 bucks for a casino dealer's gaming license...from my ex-husband. I lowered myself to ask my ex-husband to house and keep my children for a couple of months until which time I could house them and care for them appropriately myself.
My LIBERAL FRIEND offered me a room in her home (without children...don't blame her). I asked her, "can I pay you rent?"...she said HELL NO...don't pay me rent, you ARE MY FRIEND...SAVE your money, get your own apartment, and get out of my house :)
How perfect is THAT! One SHOULD take gracious for grace, one SHOULD take an opportunity and make the MOST of it, and one SHOULD take RESPONSIBILITY to its MOST LITERAL sense, in my case it WAS Bi-Partisian! It's not always that easy. Sometimes, when one's trying, another one's dying. Sometimes between parents in separate families, EACH really wants the best, sometimes it seems the worst. I think sometimes those of us wanting to be the best parents don't become really good parents until it's long beyond the time that it would have mattered the most. THANK GOD some of us are graced with children that have a magnet within them that suck up the best of two parents and become the one child that any parent would envy. In my case...I have TWO! I have TWO SONS that make me proud each day that I breathe :)
Obama: Tax those making over $250,000. I am TODAY a small business owner that employs on average 22 people. MY PAYROLL is over $250,000 per year. Like the MAJORITY of SMALL business owners I'm an S-Corp. Many don't know that in an S-Corp, the "company" pays no taxes. The Company FILES a tax return, but whatever numbers filter through the company as profit filter down TO THE OWNERS ON THEIR PERSONAL TAX RETURN in the form of a paper called a K-1. As owners, we claim all the profits of the company ON OUR PERSONAL TAX RETURNS. If your PAYROLL to EMPLOY a simple 22 people is OVER $250,000, it would certainly APPEAR that WE make more than $250,000. WE DON'T! I own three businesses technically. Two businesses comprise 22 employees, one has only 9. I make from one business in salary $10 per hour. I make from another business GROSS less than half of what Obama "determines" is "below the higher tax bracket"! HOWEVER, the REASON I make that figure GROSS, is that as an OWNER, I UTILIZE the freedom to put the MAXIMUM into a 401K plan of $15,000 per year. So NOW, my GROSS salary is really EVEN CLOSER to that of a normal middle class citizen that Obama "wants to protect". That's BEFORE TAXES...THAT salary exposes ME to the HIGHEST TAX BRACKET in which "THEY" tell you is the RICH. CERTAINLY NOT $250,000 per year! My employees make an average of over $20 per hour. I have some clerical staff...the data entry guys/gals $14-$20 per hour. I have some employees that make $28 per hour (managers). Due to CURRENT tax implications, or 401K decisions, MOST of my employees' actual paychecks NET MORE than mine, and I'm the owner. Obama can kiss my ass!
When Obama TELLS YOU about the MIDDLE CLASS, I highly ENCOURAGE YOU to ASK HIM if he will be as admitant to HIS HOUSEHOLD numbers as I am to mine, as a SMALL BUSINESS owner!
Obama wants to give ME the small business owner a $3000 tax CREDIT for NEW employees that I hire. Am I to assume that I should FIRE all my EXISTING employees and hire NEW ones so that I can get a break? GIVE ME A BREAK! WHY on God's green earth would I have to worry about NEW employees when I've spent YEARS to build up a good team of GREAT employees just so I can get an even break? A TRUE small business owner's great hope in life is that EVERY employee they hire will last for YEARS! DUH@! OWNING a business is like being the figurehead of President...the president of a company. NO SMALL BUSINESS OWNER WITH ANY SUCCESS DOESN'T REALIZE that it's HIS employees that make the business! OWNING a business just makes you the guy that opened it, marketed it, and made it grow. EMPLOYEES MAKE A BUSINESS!...NOT THE OWNERS!
McCain scored when he mentioned that Obama is eloquent. "We'll "look" at drilling for oil" I come from oil country. Drill here, drill NOW, or don't drill at all and see where that gets you! City boy Obama...again...you're a dumb ass! DON'T talk to OIL PEOPLE about OIL...you have no clue and I have lived OIL my entire life! I have also lived through that "little pipe" that USED to exist beside all oil wells in which was always an open flame. Natural gas that was burned off. WE'VE reconsidered that and decided (T-Boone Pickens) that we can now harness that too as usable energy. ALSO...Obama...DRIVE THE TEXAS LANDSCAPE! Wind Farms EVERYWHERE! We're into that too! Obama can kiss my ass!
Obama's "vent" on fuel efficient cars is that we should just MANDATE that we go to hybrid. GUESS WHAT! Current hybrid cars can only travel about 100 miles before a recharge. I am a native Texan but have resided in Nevada for almost as long. BIG STATES! Gotta go more than 100 miles for a LOT of reasons. Hybrid cars can't usually do 60mph? Our speed limit in NV and TX is sometimes 75...big DOWNER! Gotta charge 'em up? It takes most hybrid cars 8 HOURS to charge? Come ON...you techie guys can come up with better than THAT before you try to SHOVE THAT DOWN OUR THROATS! Especially WHEN we have OIL RESERVES in this nation EXCEEDING some of those in the middle east! DRILL HERE DRILL NOW!

BOTH CANDIDATES FAILED MISERABLY ON HEALTH CARE! I deal with this each year and I fight hard to change it. Obama says he can DROP your health care cost by $2500. BULLSHIT! McCain says he'd like to let us "cross state lines" BULLSHIT by current standards! WHAT NEEDS TO HAPPEN is that me with 22 employees, (SHOULD BE THE SAME PRICE I USED TO PAY WHEN I WORKED FOR A CORPORATION WITH 2800 EMPLOYEES), and YOU with 3 (THREE) employees, and the next guy with only 100 employees (ALL CONSIDERED SMALL BUSINESS) should be able to GROUP TOGETHER to form LARGE groups, (across state lines or not...I agree with McCain there) to get affordable health coverage for OUR PEOPLE...REMEMBER THE EMPLOYEES THAT MAKE OUR SMALL BUSINESSES SURVIVE? Jesus Christ! Let US SMALL BUSINESS OWNERS at least give our employees good health coverage WITHOUT SOLICIAST CONTROL!
What happens currently is that we have a small group. If ONE guy has a major surgery or ONE guy has a catestrophic event...we ALL PAY MORE!..because we're a group of 20! Let us ALL group together so that in a small business ONE PERSON with an unknown and catestrophic event can't bring the whole group down! What IF that ONE PERSON with a catestrophic event was THE OWNER! There but for the Grace of God go EVERY ONE of US! I hate to think that although I would NEVER fault ANY employee for ANY insurance claim I have that fleeting moment when one of my employees (it might be ME on any given day) has a HUGE claim that I KNOW...this is going to raise the rates of my entire company next year. THAT'S WHAT'S FUCKED UP ABOUT HEALTH CARE...NOT...that we need to Nationalize it, or that we need to SOCIALIZE it...but that as American's we can ALL JOIN ONE BIG GROUP so that there are SO MANY in the group it WORKS FOR ALL! DUH, DUH, DUH...I think even the most lacking of all American's can see the LOGIC in that! Leave the GOVERNMENT OUT OF IT...let ALL OF US American's be able to join a BIG health insurance plan all ON OUR OWN! Logic WORKS...

Obama's BIG HEALTH CARE BLUNDER! "$900 per year in health cost comes to the "little guy" because some people cannot pay. DUDE OBAMA...DUDE MCCAIN...WHY...WHY...SHY DIDN'T EITHER ONE OF YOU bring about the FACT that (at least in my MAJOR CITY of 500,000) 55% of NON-PAID health care is DUE TO THE FACT THAT ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS RECEIVE THE GOODS! Republican or Democrat! Black or White! And, Mr. Obama...you seem to be on the side of the "race" card always being played...I don't give a shit if you're white, elite, black, yellow, red, or brown! If you are in this country ILLEGALLY...screw you! You took that chance when you came in to milk us ALL for your right to do NOT DO very much! ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS came in annoymously, and should have annoymous health care...DO EITHER ONE OF YOU GET THAT?
ABORTION! That's a BIG ONE! I personally am PRO LIFE! I've stood at the crossroads and have decided whether to KEEP a life or ABORT it. However, given a split second decision by the other party involved at the moment, who knows? Pregnancy is a MILESTONE in EVERYONE'S life. I can't IMAGINE my life WITHOUT my two sons! I'm just not sure that it's MY JOB to tell YOU what you need to do in your life. Given but some certain circumstances, who knows where my children would have been?
McCain HURT himself tonight trying to debate abortion based on the Mother's HEALTH. I THINK IF A WOMAN HAS TO ABORT...SHE SHOULD KNOW WITHIN THE FIRST TRIMESTER!!!! McCain tried to assume that Obama supported late term abortion. Late term abortion should ONLY be allowed if the Mother's LIFE IS IN DANGER OF BEING DEAD! DEAD...some folks find that a "creepy" word. NO MATTER HOW PRO-LIFE you are, if the GIVER of life would DIE due to some condition that would ALLOW a baby life to come forward..."probably" the baby would suffer some sort of "condition" too. ALL CONSERVATIVES myself included favor ANY thing you can do to save a life. But for McCain to say that "health" has been "stretched" to an a limit not acceptable for a woman? I think he lost HUG$E points there. Just about any husband, baby daddy, any paritioner, or any well-doer would understand that if a baby's birth would kill the mother, an abortion might be acceptable. As for ME? I'd give my life for my child, but that's BECAUSE I HAVE TWO sons that I cannot imagine life without. My choices aren't everybody's to make! There ARE worse things than death. Crack head Mamas, Ho mamas, Abused children to the point of starvation, etc...SOME abortions were a BLESSING to those aborted rather than just a simple KILLING of life. My HOPE would be that in EVERY Dastardly neighborhood that ANY WOMAN facing that choice would HAVE the KNOWLEDGE to just reach out! REACH OUT with NO JUDGMENT! Give YOUR BABY to someone that wants a baby more than life. But it doesn't always happen that way. To say that an abortion should NOT BE GRANTED UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES comes from someone that's NEVER had those circumstances to deal with, and the "alternatives" AREN'T ALWAYS so EASY to FIND. I don't DOUBT for one moment that ANY woman faced with that obstacle either thought about it, felt like she didn't have it, or just realized that "saving" doesn't come with a wave of a wand. Some people might have done the best by a "3 week fetus" to let them go to God than to have brung them into a world of abuse, inability to feed them, or general and overt chaos! I had a great childhood although one of much discourse and chaos. AS AN ADULT...GIVEN SOME OF WHAT I'VE SEEN TODAY WITH WHAT CAN HAPPEN WITH YOUNG UNEXPECTING OR UNABLE PARENTS...ME MYSELF! I WOULD HAVE CHOSEN TO BE ABORTED THAN TO HAVE BEEN BROUGHT UP IN SOME CONDITIONS SOME KIDS ARE BORN INTO! DON'T JUDGE IF YOU'VE NEVER BEEN THERE.
EDUCATION! BACK UP AND HEAR ME ROAR!!! BOTH candidates scored POORLY on this one! Again...NEITHER CANDIDATE has ANY BALLS! McCain SHOULD HAVE scorned those that only pour liberal thoughts into our children's minds! He didn't have the balls! Obama should have scorned his Liberal cohorts that ONLY POUR LIBERAL thoughts into OUR CHILDREN'S minds! Obama has no balls either. Children or "young adults" NEED to hear BOTH SIDES! WHAT WE NEED in our Education system is more FAMILY! Vouchers won't save the kids! MORE GOVERNMENT SPENDING WON'T save the kids! WHAT WILL SAVE OUR KIDS is a fair and balanced system of education and fair pay for GOOD teachers that can TEACH, not LEAD! OUR TEACHERS NEED TO DEMAND more response from PARENTS!

JUST BECAUSE we ALL NOW HAVE TO WORK!...PARENTS...if you ARE NOT AT HOME helping your kids learn (There's ALWAYS BEFORE work and AFTER work), if PARENTS are not at home leading our kids to TAKE CARE OF ALL OF US OLD FOLKS SOME DAY...WTF? Kids ONLY DO what those that MOLD them show them THEY SHOULD DO! If YOU LAME PARENTS encourage OUR KIDS to take the EASY ROAD OUT...then FAILURE you WILL HAVE! If YOU the PARENTS will TEACH YOUR KIDS how to SURVIVE, then a NATION we will AGAIN HAVE...DUH!..DUH!..IT'S NOT LIKE SURVIVOR! You DON'T get to just KICK OUT the guy that DOESN'T MEET THE POPULARITY CONTEST! But...you TEACH your kids how to TRULY SURVIVE, and then along with that NO-DUH teaching you ALSO teach them how to KICK OUT the ones that CANNOT GRASP REALITY! Reality is NOT "Survivor". Reality is simple. Get a job. Live within your means. It's fun to drink, smoke, and party. From a simple woman's point of view...I once let a "fancy man" speak words to me that led me (of MY OWN voilition) down a road of destruction. It took me many years to find another man to lead me down a road of production. I support John McCain. He will without a doubt have MY VOTE in November. I'LL GIVE UP POLITICAL CORRECTNESS, OPINION, AND WHATEVER...I promise to tell you the people the TRUTH! Is there some "super secret rule" that WE THE PEOPLE don't know about that states that House Representatives (Congressmen) can TELL IT LIKE IT IS...but at the "higher" level...Senators and "those with more power" CANNOT TELL IT LIKE IT IS? I'm just wondering, because not only MY congressman, but others tell their constituents EXACTLY what happens in Washington and it's NOT PRETTY!
Obama won this debate tonight, and by a fair margin. He DID NOT win it based on principle though...he won it because he is the principal of the English language...meaning he is a great orator...period. Principal means main or chief, yet principle means a fundamental law or code, and yet "they" tell you that the words have absolutely NO MEANINGS IN COMMON! Really? Main / Chief - or - Fundamental Law / Code...NOTHING IN COMMON? Antonym, Synonym, or Homonym?
I want for once for the men/women in office (that YES WE voted for) to stand up in front of God and EVERYBODY on any TV station imaginable to just have 4 balls...not even 6. Just SAY IT! You are now just one "beer" / "item" short of a six pack. Joe Six Pack does NOT NEED to compare his/her self with Joe Mr./Mrs. Jones! If you cannot afford it or pay it off within signed and set terms...DON'T NEED IT - DON'T BUY IT. Ask ME...a Jane Six Pack that FAILED once (didn't get bailed out by the Government)...had to CLIMB BACK UP the ladder the hard way.
By the way...BK doesn't mean bailout! BK means you F;d over all those that entrusted your good word. It's like a prison sentence and well deserved I might add. For when you THINK BK means FREEDOM it does not. It means that you are shamed, you are left not able to finance even a paper cup when you'd like to have pure crystal. BK means that no matter after the "10 year sentence is served" you FOREVER "have to mention it" whenever doing financial transactions.
Might I also add that when I was one of those dreaded and forever marked BK losers...I walked away with SHAME. I didn't get to walk away with a $MILLION DOLLAR severence package. I walked out of court with the same shame I walked away from divorce court with once...not with a multi-million dollar severence package...but a package that forever on...I'd pay a little higher interest rate. I'd forever pay with my conscience the knowledge that I DIDN'T DO everything I could have done AT THE TIME OF FAILURE what I should have done to PREVENT IT!
Am I a better person today? You bet I am. Did I meet a man that loves me and did I gain marriage again...yes I did. Did I eventually get good credit again...yes I did, my credit score is 720. Did I marry a perfect man...no I did not. Did he marry a perfect woman...HELL NO! He too failed at marriage and had to climb the hard road to try again. Is it EVER the same again? No it's not. Is it GOOD...yes it is, and it only depends on the same effort you put into your original failure as to if your secondary attempt will succeed. Who knew happiness could be so much work? Barack Obama, what an amazing story of accomplishment huh?I’ve followed the Democratic National Convention from start to finish, watching each day.I was a delegate to my county and state conventions.Conventions are exciting and there is an air of importance to the day and the things said and/or accomplished (or not as it were in Nevada :).
I’m not totally heartless!I found some good things within the DNC convention.In my opinion…of all nights…Joe Biden God love his misguided soul and practice of politics brought every woman in America to tears…AFTER…they already cried when his son spoke first.It’s true.Based on pure content…Biden and his family were touching.I am a mother, all politics aside, and this family has endured much.My children were basically raised by a Stepfather, and I am a total sap when it comes to family.The Biden son’s story of childhood, and the elderly mother in the stands…I bawled like a baby…I know what it’s like to sit in an audience and see your son do something good and just melt with pride.I know what it’s like to be enormously proud of your spouse for goals accomplished, it’s heartwarming.Biden had the best night and best speech even if it was all bullshit apart from the family.
The other thing I can state with a 100% guarantee and without any equivocation whatsoever is that Barack Obama could have been President of the United States of America with a guarantee.If only he was a true Conservative and truly believed in the principles that made our nation great, strong, and a global entity of almost omnipotent force…he could have been President.Hey…the jury is still out, he might win anyway…we don’t know (Lord help us all if he does).My point here is that if he were a Conservative, and truly had our nation’s best interest at heart…he would win by a landslide unequal to none ever seen.But…he’s a bleeding heart liberal, and a good man gone wasted on liberal gibberish, grandiose ideals of the perfect world, and fairly transparent as an individual behind the eloquence…and Barack Obama is 100% equivocal 100% of the time.

One night I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord. Many scenes from my life flashed across the sky.
In each scene I noticed footprints in the sand. Sometimes there were two sets of footprints, other times there was one only.
This bothered me because I noticed that during the low periods of my life, when I was suffering from anguish, sorrow or defeat, I could see only one set of footprints, so I said to the Lord,
“You promised me Lord,
that if I followed you, you would walk with me always. But I have noticed that during the most trying periods of my life there has only been one set of footprints in the sand.Why, when I needed you most, have you not been there for me?”
The Lord replied, “The years when you have seen only one set of footprints, my child, is when I carried you.”
