Most of my plants died during our trips, regardless of my sisters effort to come and water them. Now I have a little olive tree on the balcony intstead. I will have to wait and see if it
1) will survive longer that a month and
2) those small green balls will turn into eatable olives at some point. Strongly depends on 1.


I bought us a Chinese porcelain vase that I'd been eyeing over at a market place for some time. Now I'm just waiting for the cats to drop it...
Maybe I should fill it with concrete in order for it not to tip over. But I'm guessing it is just a matter of time.


We have a bottle of Elvis wine waiting to be opened. I doubt sommeliers or wine connoisseurs would go crazy over this one; I don't even know if the King himself went for wines or not but hey - Elvis wine, had to get it!


I also just got myself a new bathing suit now suitably that the season is starting to be over. WIl come in real handy as I did not go to the beach once this year (exept in Key West but tht does not count) and I already own two bikinis that were waiting to be worn a little more. Well, I still have time to use it during what's left of summer only I doubt I will - it will have to wait for winter when we'll do a little trip southwards!

Or, rather : three things somewhat recently and one thing right now. But anyway.

Filled up some candy jars last time I was out at the farm house. You see the thing is, all that candy that was in the bag… it's not for eating. I only like the kind of sweets that will make you fat. As said before, I like candy for it's looks. I tend to keep a jar full of peppermints. That I never touch and NO ONE ELSE GODDAMIT but others still tend to secretly sneak a few of every now and then and quite often in fact. But now I have a stash to fill up after the boys -and husband- and their sticky fingers (literally) have been around.


On the boat on the way home I bought fruit drops! So old school you can't go any more old school. My grandmother always had these at home (a home which is now mine, funny) when I was a kid! More candy jars that is! Worse teeth for the boys!
And next time I travel I need to bring her a jar, didn't think of it until just now...


More sweetes; Eddi and I got a basket with an old porcelain coffee set and a big box of 50's cutlery as a wedding gift from his parents. Their house is just up on the hill opposite of the farm house, and full of past generation's furniture and items. His mom calls it old crap to get rid of, and well, I say Yes Please.


And now I just painted my nails sky blue - haven't had'em blue since I was 15 I think - and enjoyed a watermelon smoothie on the balcony, overflowed with the warm evening sun, at home in town.

First things first! This little daring rascal is now safe back home after a very worrying yesterday; I woke up and Lulu was nowhere to be found. THe cats sometimes go hide in strange places and stay quiet but mostly Pekka. I searched the whole house like crazy but Lulu was nowhere to be found. The only option I had left was that she had managed to sneak out and climb down or even worse: fall out form the little gap in between our balcony windows on the third floor. (It is common with glass panels on the balconies here that slide open, so that we can enjoy sitting outside for more than those three nights per year - alright, slight exaggeration three months - when it's nice and warm). But I had to go to work and had to leave the search for later, sort of thinking she'd still show up at the door when I returned. And when I got home from work ater midnight I did see a little balck silhouette and staring eyes in the bushes at the end of our building; my little scared cat was sitting there all alone. And she was alright. Oh the relief!


Since I've gained quite the few kilos during last year (age does not come alone as we say over here) and added some bonus squish all around after my trip to the U.S. I'm relaly trying to go super healthy. Breakfast of banana, cottage cheese, strawberries and raspberries with almonds. Well, pretty much what I'd normally have too...I'm just going to drink less milkshake in the evenings now then I guess.


Although most likely downloadable already and available in snippets on youtube, I'm very much looking forward to seeing this film in the cinemas, It'll arrive here next weekend!

One of my new tattoos is inspired by, well, eh, me. And the sea.


I am so going to eat that one real soon.


My other new tattoo again is inspired by the fact that I like monkeys (monkeys are the coolest ever), seamen and the sea. And Plyti-Apan is also my oldest toy.

This is a re-post of yesterday's vanished post; as most of you know blogger's been having some problems. If I do get the old post and your comments back as Blogger claims I will most likely delete this version...

We're out in the countryside. Eddi and his brother are sowing and I am not doing any of the things I should be doing at my week off work. The cats get to spend some time outside and enjoy the sunshine which makes them a bit overwhelmed.


And it is warm I tell you, finally! First time barefoot this year.



As I've said before, although not that far away, the farm is very much out in the countryside. The neighbor's cows (Pekka's and Lulu's enemies, as they tend to see it) are just right outside the house.

It would almost have deserved a pots of it's own but since I actually haven't got that far yet (in my mind I'm already done) and started with other chores ("chores") I'll save the Yeys! and Heys! until I'm over the creek as the saying goes (in Swedish).

Day off! I'm having cheese cake /curd pudding with strawberry jam on the balcony. And it's warm!


Lulu is enjoying the sunshine next to me too.


Which means she's letting the kids' Easter Grass to grow in peace for a while. (But as you can see the cats have been there a bit already...)


The doorbell rang earlier and the mailman (or, woman actually) brought me these vintage ear studs - they will be nice to match with my vintage Dior necklace.

I'm talking a little bit about shoes and posing in three favorite pairs in the latest number of Trendi magazine.


I've caught some sort of virus cold, giving me an annoying headache and making me terribly tired. Just as I had a few days off work and intended to do lots of stuff. Damn! Apart form a visit to the doctor and the store I've been resting at home and playing the piano with Lulu, mostly Satie.


I was feeling something fresh and spicy so I made us a nacho salad. With mixed green salad, beans, hot salsa, home made guacamole, sour cream, some cheddar and lots on nachos. For a vegan version skip the sour cream and the cheese, it works alright without. One can also change the beans to soy meat.


It really annoys me that many nothern bloggers have been whining on about spring this and spring that and how we all hope it will come soon for quite some time already. Well, I kind of do that too I'm afraid, a little at least. So; spring bla bla blah I got myself a springy little plant today.

My kitty fabric arrived! Now, let's see what will come of it.
The biggest question is of course when.


For the moment I'm however working on this, a little thing I need to have ready soon. It's a bit stressful as I haven't really been home properly in two weeks and won't be home much this weekend either. (And no, no pattern papers for me, I usually draw straight on the fabric but in this case I went all hi-fi and use baking paper...)


I'm waiting for the time when one is able to be outside in other than winter boots! And yes, things are melting, but no, rubber boots don't count!


I want my heels. On dry ground. Now. Like these new very sinful red ones.

As much as I like to do give aways I always feel a bit bad at this part not being able to let everybody win... But well, that's the way it is. And this time the lucky one who will get the two tickets was Pirita!

I'm not much of a Christmas decorator, mostlyk I just go for the star in the window (typical up here). Which I haven't put up yet btw. But this year, as I have a bigger flat, I've done a little more, although not that typical for the holidays anyway. I've just put up some more lights, lights that can stay after Christmas too. Well the last three at least.

Everyone has one of these in the windows over here.


I use my small mariskoolis (I have a lot of them in different colours and sizes) for candles. I like the lace-like shadows they give.


I out up some lanterns in the window of the kids' room.


I go 'Oh!'everytime I look at our bedroom window.

I want to get our balcony to resemble something of a Mexican bar, Christmas season or not (meaning the lights will most likely stay all-year round). Might have to change these though into som other kind of lights, as there is too much chord and too few lights in order for the lamps to hang nicely.

I went to the post office to pick up some Vivien of Holloway goodies! One of the items came in the wrong colour though, and I was too f.. curvy for another so I'll have to return those and wait - I hate waiting- for the right ones to arrive. Gnah. Perhaps I go to the post office too otfen btw; one of the workers handed my parcel over to the desk clerk as soon as she saw me, before I had even opened my mouth.

Exciting; received my first letter from the little boy I sponsor in India! You know, I do put my money on other things than clothes and home decor too. But they do not get to show here that much...

Rolled my hair into faux bangs (before going to perfprm at the shittiest show of the year). Haven't had my hair like this forever! And yes, I know a lot have been asking for more hair tutorials - let's see what I can come up with :)

The smartest shopping I did this autumn was two lined A-line skirts form Zara, the same skirt but in different colours. I've been wearing them all the time.


I found some coasters in Stockholm, matching the patterns and colours of our living room.


Since the renovation and move I have paid surprisingly many visits to Etola, where I haven't set my foot since mom was there bying plastic baskets, jars and such in the eighties. They are still all about plastic baskets and practical things for home, but they also have a lot of surprising and cute items nowadays! I got these small boxes for my sewing parnaphelia.
